Lowell House Bell Tower
The restoration of this tower began with the disassembly and removal of all three levels of balustrades and columns for stripping and shop conservation. Then the tower façade was chemically stripped of paint. Subsequent to abatement, preservation carpenters restored, replicated and repaired mahogany siding and carved elements. The restored balustrades and columns were reinstalled, copper flashing completed along with final painting and gilding. |
